Freddie Mercury’s alleged secret daughter, who was only known as B, has died aged 48 after a long battle with chordoma, a rare form of spinal cancer
The woman believed to be Freddie Mercury’s secret daughter, reportedly born following an alleged affair with the wife of one of his friends, has passed away at 48. The Queen frontman’s supposed child went only by the initial B and maintained her anonymity throughout her life. Her husband has now confirmed to the Mail Online that she has sadly died from an uncommon type of cancer.
Her husband revealed: “[She died] peacefully after a long battle with chordoma, a rare spinal cancer, leaving two sons aged nine and seven”.
He shared that her remains have been laid to rest in the Alps and she is now “with her beloved and loving father”. B’s link to Mercury is believed to have remained hidden for many years, with writer Lesley Ann Jones making the startling allegations, reports the Irish Mirror.

Jones stated that Freddie referred to the woman as Bibi, with Queen bandmates and Mercury’s relatives all aware of her but never publicly acknowledging her existence.
Following her death, it’s understood that her relatives are thinking about sharing photographs of her with the legendary performer, as she had chosen to stay out of the spotlight during her lifetime to safeguard her medical career.
Her account appears in Jones’ book called Love Freddie, which came out last year. The publication also reveals that B’s cancer first appeared during her childhood, and throughout their four-year collaboration on the book, her health had been deteriorating.
Jones continued: “It’s the real reason why the family relocated quite frequently, so that they could access the best treatment at the time for chordoma: a rare form of spinal cancer that was always going to kill her.”
The book further alleges that B was brought up by a different family, though Freddie maintained regular contact through frequent visits, particularly in the years leading up to his death in 1991.
While Freddie never publicly disclosed being gay or bisexual during his lifetime, those closest to him knew about his sexuality, as the singer preferred keeping his personal affairs out of the spotlight.
Freddie did engage in romantic relationships with women, notably with Mary Austin, whom he called the “love of his life”, and who knew about B.
In a letter penned by B, she wrote: “Freddie Mercury was and is my father. We had a very close and loving relationship from the moment I was born and throughout the final 15 years of his life.
“He adored me and was devoted to me. The circumstances of my birth may seem, by most people’s standards, unusual and even outrageous.
“That should come as no surprise. It never detracted from his commitment to love and look after me. He cherished me like a treasured possession.”
Despite skepticism surrounding their connection, B insisted she had undergone DNA testing to verify their relationship, evidence that Jones said formed part of her research.
Responding to skeptics on social media, Jones posted: “To those ‘demanding’ to see proof of a DNA test, otherwise they won’t believe it – please rest assured that the requisite verification was obtained, legal teams have been involved, but that such measures are private and not shared publicly.”
