Hello,

Platform fee creeps up again as Zomato and Swiggy test the market’s price sensitivity.

The two dominant food-delivery platforms have raised their per-order platform fee within days of each other. This is the latest in a series of price increases that have lifted the charge nearly nine-fold since it was introduced three years ago.

How long before consumers decide that cooking at home is cheaper after all?

Meanwhile, another food-delivery startup Swish has raised $38 million in a Series B funding round led by Hara Global and Bain Capital Venture.

While groceries and snacks are delivered quickly, full meals take a longer timeline. This presents a huge opportunity for delivery platforms to offer freshly cooked meals within minutes, say investors. For now, Swish is targeting breakfast, snacks, and late-night meals, rather than traditional lunch and dinner orders.

In other news, a report reveals that 95% of women would consider transitioning into an AI-focused role with the right organisational support, highlighting a massive, untapped pool of talent ready to fill the AI skills gap.

The world is changing faster than one can imagine.

Claude can now control your computer like a human, says its maker Anthropic.

Give Claude complete access to your computer, and it takes care of everything while you are away. A new feature allows the AI assistant to use your mouse, keyboard and screen. It can access any app, navigate browsers, fill spreadsheets, and manage activities typically done at a desk.

Tagbin’s bet on AI and immersive tech

Founded in 2013 by three IIT Roorkee graduates, Tagbin uses AI and immersive technology like AR, VR, and holograms to help governments make smarter decisions and create engaging experiences for museums, exhibitions, and public spaces.

The company is headquartered in Gurugram, and also has regional offices in Bengaluru and Mumbai, employing around 200 people. It has raised $10 million from investors including veteran investor Ramesh Damani, SageOne Flagship Growth OE Fund, and the Kurlon group.

Major projects:

  • In 2021, Tagbin built India’s biggest outdoor hologram at India Gate: a temporary statue that stood in for King George V’s while Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose’s real statue was being built.
  • For the Rashtragaan campaign, it combined voices from 2.5 crore Indians into one national anthem, played at the Red Fort.
  • For Har Ghar Tiranga, it processed 6 crore selfies in 15 days, using AI to fix blurry ones and spot bad content.

CashKaro’s Swati Bhargava’s journey

Swati Bhargava

At SheSparks 2026, CashKaro’s Swati Bhargava shared her journey of building a Rs 600-crore business while battling kidney illness. She urged women to embrace vulnerability and never treat overworking as a badge of honour.

“Ambition doesn’t look at the comfort of your life; that calling just comes from within,” said Bhargava, highlighting lessons from her journey from the small town of Ambala to Singapore, London, and back to India.

Key takeaways:

  • As she navigated the fast-paced startup ecosystem, Bhargava learned to tackle the unconscious biases that often plague women founders. She occasionally faced investors who assumed her husband and co-founder, Rohan, handled the company’s financials. She refused to let these assumptions deter her.
  • “I always call myself an entrepreneur, not a female entrepreneur. Because it’s a level playing field,” she asserted. When investors directed complex financial questions to Rohan, she confidently answered them herself.
  • Bhargava highlighted that entrepreneurship is a marathon requiring immense resilience. In 2022, this resilience was tested when she had a health scare. Balancing daytime hospital visits with evening investor calls, she successfully closed a funding round before checking into the hospital for a transplant.
