The State Cabinet on Thursday approved setting up of “Centre for Applied AI for Tech Solutions” in association with NASSCOM at a cost of ₹20 crore to be spent over four years.
The centre, which will be set up at the KEONICS facility in HSR layout here, will help in accelerating AI adoption and digital transformation across sectors. Besides the State government, the centre will be funded by MeitY and industry partners, a note from IT and BT Minister Priyank Kharge said.
Research to market
“The centre will be a launchpad for deep tech start-ups and industry collaborations. By bringing government, academia, and industry together, we are building a pipeline from research to market ready innovation,” the Minister said.
Over the next four years, the note said that the initiative envisages collaboration with global technology and industry leaders and the centre is expected to establish advanced laboratories and testing facilities, support deep tech start-ups and facilitate proof of concepts and technology commercialiszation.
Performance indicators
It said that the key performance indicators for the centre will include the number of start-ups incubated, prototypes developed, intellectual property filings, industry collaborations, and skilled professionals trained.
