PSG College of Technology inaugurated a three-day International Conference on “AI Spectrum: Bridging Research, Industry, and Innovation” at its campus on Monday, bringing together leading academicians, industry experts and researchers to deliberate on the evolving role of artificial intelligence.
Dr. R. Karpagam, Director of the PSG-AI Consortium and Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, delivered the welcome address, while Dr. D. Indumathi, Associate Professor, presented an overview of the PSG-AI Consortium and its initiatives.
Dr. K. Prakasan, Principal of PSG College of Technology, presided over the inaugural session and delivered the presidential address.


He lauded the management for its foresight in organising the conference to equip students with knowledge of emerging technologies.
Stressing responsible usage, he highlighted the importance of human intervention and ethical oversight in the application of AI technologies. The conference was formally inaugurated by the chief guest, Shri Ananthakrishnan, Director of Software Engineering at Cisco, Chennai, who released the inaugural video and underscored the growing synergy between industry and academic research in the AI domain. College alumni Mukund Bhoovaraghavan, Principal Architect at Microsoft, Hyderabad, and Siva Visakan Sooriyan, Co-founder and CTO of Arcana, New York, were present as guests of honour. Ms. Aruna Jayaraman, Co-founder of Haiva.ai, UK, also attended the inaugural session as a guest of honour.
The conference aims to serve as a platform for exchanging ideas, fostering innovation and strengthening collaboration between research institutions and industry, with technical sessions, paper presentations and exhibitions scheduled over the three days.
