Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Science and Technology Dr. Jitendra Singh said that emerging technologies, particularly AI, are playing a growing role in transforming the healthcare sector.
Speaking at a recent event recognising young medical professionals, Singh noted that the advancements in technology are reshaping the way healthcare is delivered and practised.
While addressing the event, the Union Minister highlighted that although technology has significantly improved diagnosis and treatment, the role of a doctor remains central to patient care due to their experience and clinical intuition.
Sing also observed that the growing adoption of digital technologies and AI-driven solutions is significantly improving healthcare services across the country. The integration of advanced technologies into the healthcare system is enabling more accurate diagnosis, efficient treatment, and improved patient care.
The increasing adoption of digital platforms and AI-based tools is also expected to enable healthcare professionals enhance service delivery and expand access to medical services.
He further noted that with the rising burden of disease, the role of artificial intelligence and digital technologies is becoming more prominent, while the medical field is expected to grow more complex.
In this context, Singh urged medical professionals to develop specialised expertise and continuously update their knowledge as medical science continues to evolve.
Recently, the Union Minister also unveiled ‘SUJVIKA’, an AI-Driven Biotech Data Portalaimed at strengthening the biotechnology ecosystem.
The initiative seeks to place biotechnology and digital intelligence at the center of India’s ambition to build a USD 1 trillion bioeconomy by 2047.
