Experts discuss innovation, ethics, healthcare and emerging applications of artificial intelligence

Jamshedpur, March 7: The second day of the national symposium titled “AI Unleashed: Innovations, Ethics and Impact across Emerging Real-world Domains” concluded at Al-Kabir Polytechnic, Jamshedpur, with insightful lectures by experts from academia and industry.

The day began with a lecture by Jai Kumar, Director, BAP, NTT DATA, Hyderabad, who spoke on the evolving role of artificial intelligence in industry and emerging technological trends. Professor S.C. Dutta, Head of the Department of Computer Science at BIT Sindri, delivered a talk on “Agentic AI in Modern Software Development: Opportunities and Challenges.” He explained how agent-based artificial intelligence systems are transforming the software development process while also presenting new technical and ethical challenges.

Dr. Ammar Iqbal from the University of Trento, Italy, joined the symposium online and shared his research on “Artificial Intelligence for Smart and Efficient Materials Synthesis and Processing.” He highlighted how AI can accelerate innovation in material science and industrial manufacturing.

During the concluding session, Professor B. Ramachandra Reddy of NIT Jamshedpur delivered a detailed lecture on the growing role of artificial intelligence in healthcare, explaining how AI-driven technologies are helping improve diagnosis, treatment planning and patient care.

Several researchers and scholars from the city also presented their research papers during the symposium.

The closing ceremony was attended by senior officials from the Department of Higher and Technical Education, Government of Jharkhand, including Sunil Kumar (IAS), Director, Dr. Rajshekhar Prasad, Executive Director of JCSTI, and Dr. Ranjit Kumar Singh, Joint Director of JCSTI. Other dignitaries present included Dr. Mohammad Zakaria, Director of Karim City College, Dr. Hasan Imam Malik of JRD Tata Sports Complex, and members of Kabir Welfare Trust.

Addressing the gathering, Sunil Kumar (IAS) spoke in detail about the future potential and challenges of artificial intelligence technology.
