Vedanta Ltd has made substantial progress in its sustainability efforts, successfully recycling or reusing nearly 15 million tonnes of waste in FY25. Additionally, the company has maintained 100% utilisation of fly ash, a significant industrial byproduct, since FY21, marking a continued positive trajectory across its operations.
The company announced this accomplishment on Global Recycling Day, highlighting its commitment to sustainable development and responsible waste management. Vedanta is dedicated to building a robust circular economy, ensuring waste streams are transformed into valuable resources, aligning with its goal to achieve zero legacy waste by 2035.
With innovative strategies, Vedanta converts waste such as ash, slag, and refinery residues into resources used in cement, bricks, and road construction, and supplies other byproducts to downstream industries through strategic partnerships. Efforts like tailings recovery and dry tailings management further enhance resource efficiency, improving material recovery while reducing water usage.
