Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu issued a stern warning to contractors lagging on their projects. Speaking at the state assembly, he emphasized potential tender cancellations for projects that haven’t started yet, despite being allocated some time ago.
To streamline operations, Sukhu mentioned that only one or two contracts would be assigned to a single contractor moving forward, especially those unfamiliar with the region’s topography. This decision aims to tackle ongoing delays with infrastructure projects.
Complementing this stance, Public Works Minister Vikramaditya Singh revealed an inquiry into the sluggish execution of roadworks in areas like Dehra and Jwalamukhi. He mentioned that the responsible firm has already been fined over Rs 3 crore, reinforcing the government’s intent to enhance accountability.
