In a bid to enhance healthcare accessibility, the Haryana government has approved a policy to set up nursing homes in licensed residential colonies across the state. This initiative is intended to bridge existing gaps in healthcare services, especially in new and emerging residential areas.
The policy was approved by the state cabinet, led by Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, aiming to strengthen neighborhood-level healthcare infrastructure. It allows the establishment of nursing homes on residential plots owned by qualified doctors, provided they fulfill certain criteria, including registration with the Medical Council or AYUSH Council, among others.
This decision, which also incorporates revised fees for various urban development regulations, aims to modernize urban infrastructure and increase revenue. Changes include a revision of scrutiny fees, conversion license fees, and State Infrastructure Development Charges, reflecting the evolving economic and urban development needs of the region.
