The Dharavi Redevelopment Project’s authorities have delivered a final 15-day ultimatum for residents to submit their eligibility documents, marking the last opportunity for compliance. The project, overseen by the Slum Rehabilitation Authority under Maharashtra’s government, strives for transparency in the redevelopment process.
Despite surveying over 91,000 units and extensive outreach efforts, around 24,000 units remain incomplete due to document issues or the absence of household heads, and nearly 13,000 are yet to participate. Throughout the past months, officials have employed multiple notices, facilitation camps, and personalized outreach to assist residents.
Residents are urged to submit documentation in person, by post, or courier. Failure to meet this deadline will see the authority proceed with eligibility assessments based on available records. This framework aims to ensure fairness and adherence to the Slum Rehabilitation Authority norms.
