The Delhi government announced the deployment of two state-of-the-art weed harvester machines at the Najafgarh Drain, a major contributor of pollutants to the Yamuna River, said Water Minister Parvesh Sahib Singh on Saturday.
Officials claim that by addressing the issue at the source, these machines will notably cut down the pollutant load entering the river and boost drainage efficiency throughout the city.
These dual-purpose machines, flaunting a 112-horsepower engine and a 14 cubic meter storage capacity, can efficiently remove aquatic vegetation and floating debris, representing a stride towards technology-driven governance and the Swachh Bharat mission.
