Delhi’s Chief Minister, Rekha Gupta, announced a strategic shift from quick fixes like the odd-even traffic system to long-term, technology-based solutions for air pollution management. These remarks were made during the inauguration of the Innovative Solutions Against Pollution exhibition held at IIT Delhi to commemorate National Startup Day.

The exhibition highlighted 33 innovative prototypes chosen under the Innovation Challenge launched in June 2025, aimed at engaging startups and young innovators to develop effective solutions for the capital’s pollution issues. Gupta emphasized sustainable approaches like removing legacy waste dumps and enhancing green cover as they remain crucial components of the city’s strategy.

Environment Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa noted that efforts over the past eight months have focused on implementing technology capable of markedly reducing pollution. He stressed that Delhi’s pollution is interlinked with the broader NCR and that the government is pursuing various solutions, including electric vehicles and dust control measures, supported by technological advances.
