Political tensions escalated in the Telangana Legislative Assembly as the BRS staged a walkout amid accusations aimed at the Congress government regarding the Musi river rejuvenation project. Allegations of corruption and inefficient planning were fervently denied by the government.
State IT and Industries Minister D Sridhar Babu addressed the assembly during the Question Hour, stating the state’s anticipation of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) approving the Detailed Project Report (DPR). Babu outlined the government’s contingency plans to move forward with Public Private Partnership (PPP) if ADB’s approval is not forthcoming.
Criticism from BRS leaders, highlighting a perceived lack of comprehensive planning and funding clarity, was refuted by Babu, who detailed the project’s estimated costs and the government’s dedication to Musi river’s transformation.
