Nine workers were injured following the sudden collapse of a cold storage facility in Phaphamau, officials reported. The incident, which occurred on Monday afternoon, sparked an ammonia gas leak, leading to an immediate emergency response.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Ganga Nagar) Kuldeep Gunawat confirmed that the structure caved in unexpectedly, trapping workers beneath. Rescue teams managed to free all individuals promptly and admitted them to a hospital for treatment.
The fire brigade is actively working to manage the ammonia leak. Concurrently, district administration and police teams are on-site to secure the surrounding area and mitigate any further risks.
