In a significant announcement, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu confirmed Amaravati’s status as the capital of Andhra Pradesh has been solidified, garnering support from the entire country. This follows the passage of the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation (Amendment) Bill, 2026, by Parliament.
Naidu alleged conspiracies by opposition, claiming that attempts were made to dismantle Amaravati’s status through false narratives and letters to international bodies. He praised the national government’s support and highlighted the collaborative vision for Amaravati, involving world-class infrastructure and strategic urban planning.
Looking forward, Naidu outlined ambitious development plans, including infrastructure projects and educational initiatives, aiming for a $2.4 trillion economy by 2047. Despite historical challenges, he stated Amaravati will emerge as a hub for employment and knowledge, with ongoing investments across Andhra Pradesh.
