Thiruvananthapuram

Congress leader and Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi on Saturday said that if he had not entered politics, he would likely have pursued entrepreneurship in the aerospace sector.

Speaking during an interaction with the Information Technology fraternity at Technopark in Thiruvananthapuram, Gandhi said people often define him only as a politician, though he sees himself as someone interested in multiple fields.

Responding to a question during the dialogue, he said labels such as politician, technocrat, engineer or tech professional are “constricting definitions”.

“If I was not working for a political organisation, I would probably be doing some entrepreneurship, probably in the aerospace world,” Gandhi said.

He noted that aviation has a family connection. “I am a pilot, so was my father and also my uncle. So we have that little strain,” he added.

Gandhi also emphasised the importance of curiosity and openness to new ideas.

“We should be curious about everything. You should have an open mind to everything and that is when you start to connect the dots,” he said.
