Speaking at the Viksit Bharat Young leaders dialogue here on Monday, the prime minister underlined that with innovative ideas, energy and purpose, Yuva Shakti is in the forefront of nation building. He lauded the creativity and innovative spirit of Gen Z.
“You all would probably not have heard of policy paralysis that existed before 2014,” Modi said, adding that the UPA government had created several hurdles that impeded the youth from realising their potential, be it in the start-ups sector or the space program where they now have the freedom to innovate and contribute.
Elaborating on the steps and incentives his government had provided in the start-ups sector, Modi said, “With a clear focus on the youth, we rolled out successive schemes. It was from here that the start-up revolution truly gathered momentum in India.”
He also referred to Macaulay’s Minutes and insisted this had created a slave mindset among the people. His government has strived to take the nation out of it.
“Every youth of India must pledge to free the nation from the mindset of slavery,” Modi said.
The teachings of Swami Vivekanand are still a source of inspiration for today’s youth,” he said.The prime minister also encourage the youth to be a part of the Fit India campaign and stay healthy and active.
