Kyriakos Mitsotakis will attend the India AI Impact Summit 2026 in New Delhi on Wednesday and Thursday, where he will also meet Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Government sources called the trip a strategic choice of high political and geo-economic significance, placing Greece at the center of global AI discussions and reinforcing its role as a bridge between Europe and the Global South.

The summit brings together more than 20 heads of state and representatives from over 60 countries to shape a global AI policy framework focused on measurable social and developmental impact.

Mitsotakis will meet tech leaders including Demis Hassabis (Google DeepMind), Brad Smith (Microsoft), Mati Staniszewski (ElevenLabs), Sam Altman (OpenAI) and Arthur Mensch (Mistral AI), and will be accompanied by Digital Governance Minister Dimitris Papastergiou and Special Secretary for Strategic Foresight Yannis Mastrogeorgiou.

The meeting with Modi comes two and a half years after his visit to Athens and two years after Mitsotakis’ visit to India, as bilateral relations expand in defense, trade, technology, education, tourism and agriculture. Sources noted Greece’s strategic location positions it as a gateway for the Indo-Pacific to Europe and a key link in the India–Middle East–Europe Corridor. [AMNA]
