Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday slammed the “self-serving” politics of the Left and Congress-led UDF in Kerala, saying their policies were driven by vote-bank considerations with little concern for the development of the South Indian state.
“For decades, Kerala has been caught between two forms of self-serving politics: on one side, the LDF, and on the other, the UDF. One is led by the Communists, the other by the Congress Party. Both are marred by corruption and communalism, differing only in degree,” PM Modi said while addressing a rally in poll-bound Kerala’s Palakkad.

“The policies of both the UDF and LDF are driven solely by vote-bank considerations, with little concern for Kerala’s development,” he added.
PM Modi said that the BJP-NDA Govt in Kerala will do rapid development. “We will make Vikasit Kerala, and it’s Modi’s guarantee. What remains unchanged, will change. Now, Kerala will develop.”
Highlighting the financial irregularities in Kerala, Modi stated that the state is burdened with a debt of over Rs 5 lakh crore, a figure that has tripled in just the last ten years. “Naturally, the people of Kerala are demanding answers: Where has all this money gone? The answer is clear: it has ended up in the pockets of the LDF,” he alleged.
Asserting that the state is sending a message of change, the Prime Minister said that the BJP will ensure that the “ill-gotten” wealth is recovered from the corrupt.
He claimed that the popularity of the NDA in Kerala is rising and the trust of the people in BJP is growing.
“Now, the trust of Kerala’s youth is in—BJP and NDA. The affection of Kerala’s women is for—BJP and NDA. The love of Kerala’s farmers is for—BJP and NDA,” he added.

Highlights his govt’s efforts amid West Asia crisis
Amid the ongoing conflict in the West Asia, Modi also highlighted his government’s efforts to ensure that the impact of this war on India is minimized as much as possible.
“Many people from Kerala are working in the war-affected areas. Ever since the war began, I have been in constant touch with the heads of state of all these countries, maintaining contact. All those countries are prioritizing the safety of Indians stuck in the war zones. To ensure that our brothers and sisters there face no hardship, the Indian embassies are working day and night,” he said.
He said that protecting the interests of Indians is of paramount importance for the BJP-NDA government.
Slams Congress remarks on West Asia crisis
PM Modi also slammed the Congress party for its remarks with regard to the conflict, calling them “dangerous”.
“And in this sensitive matter, the kind of statements the Congress is making–you must remember that too. The kind of statements the Congress is issuing are dangerous,” he added.
