Former Director General of Police for Assam and Sahitya Akademi award-winning poet Harekrishna Deka has come out in support of Assam Jatiya Parishad (AJP) candidate Kunki Choudhury for the Guwahati Central constituency.
In a video message, speaking about the significance of the younger generation, Deka highlighted that Gen Z, which Kunki Choudhury represents, will play a defining role in shaping the future, not just of Assam or India, but of the world. He emphasised that how this generation engages in public life, participates in governance, and contributes to societal welfare will determine the path ahead for the country.
“Kunki Choudhury is a voice of this young generation,” Deka stated. “Her decision to contest from Guwahati Central is crucial. It is important for voters to give her a chance and support her in winning, as her participation in the Legislative Assembly will have a meaningful and lasting impact.”
Dekai stressed that the election is about empowering youth leadership and creating a foundation for future governance.
