Suspended Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) MLC and Telangana Jagruthi chief Kalvakuntla Kavitha has announced that she will soon launch a new political party, projecting it as a secular, unbiased platform committed to public welfare and inclusive development.

Positioning the proposed party as a strong alternative in Telangana politics, Kavitha said it would focus on empowering the youth and raising the voices of those who have been ignored within the political system.

Kavitha’s announcement comes amid heightened political and personal tensions following her suspension from the BRS.

During proceedings in the Telangana Legislative Council, she broke down while responding to allegations surrounding her rift with the party and hit out at the Congress for what she described as “false narratives” being spun against her.

“My fight is for self-respect and not for wealth. I swear by the God I believe in and by my two sons,” Kavitha said.

Reiterating her political vision, Kavitha said the new platform would stand for transparency, justice and inclusive growth, and sought public support to build what she described as a credible alternative to the existing political formations in the state.

According to news agency ANI, Kavitha, on December 15, engaged with netizens on X under the hashtag #AskKavitha, responding to questions for about one-and-a-half hours on issues ranging from her vision for Telangana and the future roadmap of Telangana Jagruthi to her assessment of the Congress government’s performance.

During the interaction, Kavitha reiterated that achieving Samajika Telangana (Social Telangana) remains her core mission.

She stressed that youth and women should be provided opportunities in the fields of their choice and encouraged accordingly.

She said Telangana Jagruthi would work to create political opportunities for youth and women and continue its struggle for social justice, while gradually strengthening the organisation.

Responding to questions about the launch of a new political party, Kavitha had given clarity that her platform would contest the 2029 elections.

She said the name of the party would be decided based on suggestions from the people.

Emphasising empowerment as a central pillar, she said quality free education and healthcare must reach all sections of society and argued that parents in Telangana should not have to spend “even a single rupee” on their children’s education.

On priorities concerning the youth, Kavitha said providing jobs would be her top focus, along with ensuring security.

She also announced that a Telangana Jagruthi membership drive would be launched soon, noting that committees formed by the organisation have already given representation to all sections.

Kavitha, daughter of BRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao, was suspended from the party in September after accusing her cousins and senior party leaders T Harish Rao and J Santosh Kumar of “tarnishing” her father’s image over the Kaleshwaram project.

Since her suspension, she has been actively taking up public issues under the banner of Telangana Jagruthi, a cultural organisation she heads.

Accusing both the BRS and the ruling Congress of “corruption and irregularities,” Kavitha had earlier said that she would become the Chief Minister one day and conduct a probe into what she described as injustices committed since Telangana’s formation in 2014.
