Political consultations have been held between the foreign ministries of Azerbaijan and India, Report informs, citing the Azerbaijani MFA.
As noted, the political consultations were led by Deputy Foreign Minister Elnur Mammadov on the Azerbaijani side, and by Secretary (West) of the Ministry of External Affairs Sibi George on the Indian side.
At the same time, Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov also received the delegation led by Sibi George on the same day.
During the meeting, the current state and prospects of bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and India were discussed, and cooperation issues in the areas of economic-trade relations, energy, tourism, and education were reviewed.
Additionally, positions on issues of disagreement between the two countries were brought to attention, and the importance of dialogue in this direction was emphasized.
The parties exchanged views on regional and international security issues, including the current tensions in the Middle East. The importance of ensuring stability and security in the region was noted. Furthermore, gratitude was expressed to the Azerbaijani side for the support provided in the evacuation of Indian citizens from Iran.
During the meeting, views were also exchanged on other issues of mutual interest.
