He was a far-sighted politician and I was fortunate to receive his guidance. His poems are an inspiration for all those who are facing any kind of trouble or challenge,” the CM said. Describing him as a person with firm resolve, the CM said that through welfare schemes for the poor, he realised Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay’s dream of Antyodaya. He also worked tirelessly for rural development, urban connectivity and improving public transport. Yogi called Vajpayee the ‘Ajatshatru’ of Indian politics, adding that the state govt was working to take forward his dreams. “On the occasion of his 100th birth anniversary, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be inaugurating the Rashtra Prerna Sthal in Lucknow on Thursday. A digital museum has also been established through which one will get an insight into their ideals and visions,” the CM said. The Prerna Sthal has an open air theatre with a seating capacity of 3,000 while another 2 lakh people can be accommodated in the grounds. With this venue available, the CM said, it will be possible to organise large public programmes in Lucknow. “This Rashtra Prerna Sthal is our heartfelt tributes to Atal ji. He had said, ‘Mere Prabhu mujhe itni oonchai kabhi mat dena, gairon ko gale laga na sakoon, itni rukhai kabhi mat dena’. This should be an inspiration for all Indians,” the CM said.
