Parliament Winter Session Today Live Updates: Parliament is set for a heated day on Tuesday as the Winter Session enters a crucial phase, with sharp exchanges expected between the government and the opposition. Several politically sensitive issues are likely to dominate proceedings in both Houses, raising the prospect of repeated disruptions and strong floor speeches.

MGNREGA to be replaced with G Ram G? A major flashpoint is the government’s plan to introduce a bill that will replace the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee scheme (MGNREGA). The proposed move has already drawn criticism from opposition parties, who argue that MGNREGA remains a lifeline for rural households. They are expected to question both the intent and impact of replacing the long-running employment scheme, particularly at a time of economic stress in rural areas.

The opposition has signalled its intent to corner the government over rising air pollution levels and the worsening air quality index in Delhi-NCR. 

Today’s agenda: Both Houses of Parliament will resume business at 11 am on Tuesday, with a packed agenda lined up in the Lok Sabha.
