Travelling in billionaire style? Hurun India’s Wealth Report and Luxury Consumer Survey 2025 offers a rare glimpse into how the ultra-rich unwind — and the destinations they can’t resist.

The report, which also introduced the Mercedes-Benz Hurun India Index (MBHX) as a new wealth yardstick, reveals India now boasts 8.71 lakh millionaire households.

Maharashtra leads the way with 1.78 lakh millionaire homes, while Mumbai, with 1.42 lakh, has cemented its crown as India’s “Millionaire Capital.”

But wealth isn’t just about numbers — it’s about lifestyle. And when it comes to travel, India’s high-net-worth individuals are charting luxury paths across the globe.

Singapore (11%) tops the chart, offering a blend of luxury hotels like Marina Bay Sands and Raffles, world-class dining, and a buzzing finance hub that doubles as a playground for the elite.

United Kingdom and Switzerland (9% each) tie for second, combining Europe’s scenic beauty with strategic allure.

France and Greece (5% each) remain beloved for fashion, culture, and history — with Paris at the heart of haute couture and Greece offering timeless luxury against ancient backdrops.

USA and Australia (8% each) draw millionaires for their financial powerhouses and vibrant cities.

UAE (7%), particularly Dubai, continues to charm with tax-friendly policies, safety, and world-class infrastructure.

Japan (7%) and Maldives (6%) round off the top tier, celebrated for precision-driven luxury and dreamy island indulgence.

From business-class boardrooms in Singapore to sun-kissed villas in the Maldives, the report underscores one truth: when India’s rich travel, they do it with an eye for both status and experience.
