‎In a bid to commemorate International Women’s Day, Glomay Alliance Company Limited, convener of the Nigerian Women Achievers Awards/Conference (NWAAC), has announced plans to focus on women’s health and wellness at its 2026 edition.

‎According to a statement by the convener, Amb. Dr. Joy Osusu, the 2026 edition will align with the International Women’s Day theme, “Give to Gain,” emphasising generosity and collaboration in advancing gender empowerment. She said the initiative will move beyond celebrating achievements to prioritising women’s health and wellness under the theme, “Women Listen, Act and Transform.”

They noted that women face unique health challenges throughout their lives, including reproductive health concerns such as fibroids, polycystic ovary syndrome, endometriosis and menopause, stressing that proactive healthcare can significantly improve outcomes.

‎As part of activities for the year, the organisation will host a free medical outreach and campaign focusing on women’s health issues. The outreach is designed to provide consultations, health education and screenings aimed at addressing common and emerging health challenges faced by women.

‎She noted that they have opened up collaborations with several non-governmental organisations to expand the reach of the initiative. Partner organisations include BMO Foundation, Hopesavers Foundation and Fola Healthy Living Initiative.

Supporting partners such as Edeh Divine Favour Maternity Home will provide facilities for cervical cancer screening, while Rescue Reach Supportive Initiative will offer free consultations and vital checks. Other supporting groups include Face of Change Nigeria, The Healing Men’s Project and Citizens Health Initiative Nigeria.

‎Top medical professionals are also expected to educate and counsel participants during the conference segment of the event.
