Health Update: North Shore Eye Health opens vision therapy clinic | Ozaukee Co. Business News – What Experts Say

CEDARBURG — North Shore Eye Health & Wellness has announced the launch of its new Vision Therapy & Occupational Therapy Clinic, making it the first private practice in Wisconsin to integrate optometry and occupational therapy under one roof. This innovative expansion will provide comprehensive care for pediatric patients as well as individuals recovering from brain injury, stroke, or other conditions affecting visual skills, according to a North Shore Eye Health press release. The addition of occupational therapy allows the clinic to deliver highly coordinated care. Combining expertise in eye health, vision therapy, and functional rehabilitation.

“Patients of all ages will benefit from individualized treatment plans designed to improve visual performance and overall quality of life,” according to a press release.

The clinic also welcomes Carolyn Callahan, an occupational therapist with extensive experience in neurorehabilitation and vision therapy. Carolyn earned her Bachelor of Science in occupational therapy from the University of Scranton and has dedicated more than two decades to treating patients with visual and visual-perceptual impairments. She holds a Low Vision Specialty Certificate from Salus University and is currently pursuing advanced certification in Remedial Vision Rehabilitation.

In addition to her clinical work, Callahan will serve as adjunct faculty in the Occupational Therapy program at Carroll University.

The clinic also highlights the achievements of Anthony Larsen, a vision therapist at North Shore Eye Health & Wellness for the past three years.

Larsen recently earned his Occupational Therapy Assistant certification after completing his degree at Milwaukee Area Technical College and passing the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy exam in January. Licensed in Wisconsin, he continues to play an integral role in supporting patients with individualized vision therapy and rehabilitation programs.
