Medical Tourism Africa has launched the Thryvv Wellness Platform in Lagos, marking a new phase in its partnership with Sterling Bank Nigeria and Torrista to expand wellness and health tourism across Africa.

The public unveiling took place on December 14, 2025, during the Isimi Wellness Lagos Event, although the partners had signed the collaboration agreement earlier. The launch formed part of broader efforts to promote preventive healthcare, lifestyle wellness, and destination health services.

Medical Tourism Africa developed Thryvv Wellness as a digital platform to connect individuals with wellness services and experiences. The initiative aligns with the organisation’s strategy to strengthen Africa’s wellness ecosystem and position the continent as a destination for health and medical tourism.

The Isimi Wellness Lagos Event, themed “The Future of Wellbeing: Prevention, Lifestyle, and Destination Wellness in Lagos,” brought together stakeholders from healthcare, finance, wellness, and tourism sectors to explore growth opportunities in the industry.

Elizabeth Johnson, founder and chief executive officer of Medical Tourism Africa, moderated a panel session at the event. Speakers included Dr Dayo Ajayi, an endoscopist; Darlington Nwankwo, programme director at Sterling Bank; Eniola Olushola, corporate partnership manager at iFitness; and Chidima Blessing Ekume, a holistic health specialist.

The panel focused on preventive healthcare, lifestyle management, destination wellness, and the role of cross-sector collaboration in expanding Africa’s health tourism sector.

Johnson said the platform reflects the organisation’s commitment to building infrastructure that supports wellness and preventive care across the continent.

Through its collaboration with Sterling Bank and Torrista, Medical Tourism Africa aims to expand access to wellness services while supporting the development of a sustainable health tourism ecosystem.

The launch of Thryvv Wellness represents a key step in strengthening Africa’s wellness infrastructure and advancing destination health initiatives.
