Visitors can learn about managing health issues before they arise

The Hendrick Health Wellness Fair returns May 2 to Abilene, organizers said.

The theme for the Mall of Abilene event will be “Health 101: A Foundation Built on Literacy,” emphasizing the importance of being literate in all the aspects of one’s health.

The fair is scheduled for 11 a.m.–4 p.m. May 2 at the Mall of Abilene.

Hendrick Health Vice President and Chief Strategy and Experience Officer Brian Bessent described the fair as a chance for the public to partner with health care providers to manage medical issues when they arise.

“Knowledge is powerful in our journey for wellness and better health,” he said in a media release. “The wellness fair is a wonderful opportunity for individuals to learn wellness and preventative health strategies.”

Hendrick will have 40 booths available for the public to resource information to support physical and mental health at all stages of life. Folks can learn how to monitor vital signs, register for prizes and attend educational seminars.

Topics will range from heart disease, diabetes and nutrition to cancer prevention and behavioral health. The Hendrick Regional Blood Center bloodmobile will also be on hand for a blood drive.

“The Wellness Fair is an exciting event for our teams to connect with the community in a nonclinical environment and help empower individuals on their health journey,” Bessent said.
