Health Update: Health Update: Family health journey inspires new approach to wellness and recovery. – What Experts Say– What Experts Say.

Adeeply personal journey has inspired CO7Recovery Founder and Director Tarsh Chapman to bring a world-class suite of scientifically backed health and wellness modalities to the Limestone Coast-the first of their kind in the region.

Just over twelve months ago, Ms Chapman’s previously healthy and active mother experienced the sudden onset of a rare autoimmune neurological condition known as Chronic Inflammatory Demyelinating Polyneuropathy (CIDP).

The condition causes the body’s immune system to attack its own nerves and myelin sheath, resulting in progressive muscle weakness, loss of mobility, and, in severe cases, paralysis.

In her mother’s case, CIDP rapidly progressed, leaving her wheelchair-bound and unable to walk.

With no known cure, early diagnosis and intensive treatment are critical in halting disease progression, reversing nerve damage, and improving long-term outcomes.

“Mum spent almost a full year hospitalised in Adelaide, undergoing intensive treatment and rehabilitation,” Ms Chapman explained.

“Her prognosis and recovery journey remain uncertain but we are incredibly grateful that she has now returned home.

“Her life has been permanently altered – from home modifications to vehicle adaptations – everything has had to change to accommodate her mobility challenges.”

Now home, Ms Chapman’s mother continues a comprehensive rehabilitation program that includes physiotherapy, hydrotherapy, immunosuppressive therapy, and plasma exchange.

However, it was during this journey that Ms Chapman identified significant gaps in access to advanced rehabilitation and recovery modalities outside of major metropolitan centres.

“I quickly realised that access to cutting-edge recovery technology and evidence-based therapies is extremely limited in regional areas,” she said.

“For individuals who are unwell, injured, or mobility impaired, the burden of travelling long distances for treatment adds an unnecessary layer of physical, emotional, and financial stress.”

This journey became the foundation of CO7Recovery – a purpose-driven wellness centre designed to deliver world-class recovery, rehabilitation, and performance therapies locally, removing the need for travel to major cities.

“CO7Recovery was created not just for my mum, but for our entire community,” Ms Chapman said.

“My vision was to bring evidence-based, medical-grade technology to the Limestone Coast, allowing people to access advanced recovery solutions right here at home.”

CO7Recovery now offers a comprehensive range of modalities, including Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT), Whole Body and Localised Cryotherapy, Infrared Photobiomodulation, Infrared Sauna Therapy, Compression Therapy, Contrast Therapy, and Reformer Pilates, all carefully curated to support rehabilitation, injury recovery, chronic pain management, nervous system regulation, and overall health optimisation.

Recently, CO7Recovery has expanded its clinical capability with the introduction of a medical-grade Halsa Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) chamber, significantly strengthening its capacity to support children, young people, and adults living with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) under the NDIS.

“Our community now has access to therapies that are clinically supported to enhance healing, reduce inflammation, accelerate recovery, improve mobility, and support neurological and cognitive health,” Ms Chapman explained.

“This represents a significant advancement in regional healthcare and wellness accessibility.”

Each client experience at CO7Recovery is highly personalised, with individual goals, health conditions, and recovery needs carefully assessed to develop tailored treatment plans.

“We encourage anyone interested in improving their health, recovery, or performance to visit CO7Recovery and speak with our team,” Ms Chapman said.

“Our focus is on education, guidance, and creating targeted solutions that deliver real outcomes.”
