Health Update: Health Update: Community Health and Wellness Fair Coming to Lexington — DavidsonLocal.com – What Experts Say– What Experts Say.
A new community-driven effort aimed at improving access to healthcare resources is set to take place in Lexington this April, bringing together local organizations, medical providers, and residents for a day focused on prevention, education, and wellness.
The Stronger Together: Community Health and Wellness Fair will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the J. Smith Young YMCA.
Organized by the Physical & Mental Wellness Committee, Social Action Committee, and the Omega Manhood Institute, the event represents a collaborative effort with the Lexington (NC) Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., and the Eta Beta Beta Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.
According to organizers, the fair is centered on expanding access to care and empowering residents with knowledge about their health. “This initiative is designed to expand our outreach through prevention, education, and meaningful access to healthcare resources within Davidson County and surrounding areas,” organizers stated in a press release.
A key feature of the event will be the presence of the Novant Health Community Care Cruiser, which will offer basic health assessments and screenings. These services are intended to help attendees better understand their health numbers and take proactive steps toward improving their well-being.
The event will also include a range of local vendors and healthcare professionals, including diabetes educators, dental providers, general practitioners, and community health organizations. Educational resources will focus on chronic disease prevention, mental health awareness, and access to medical and dental services.
Organizers emphasized the importance of bringing resources directly into the community. “This event represents an opportunity to bring resources, education, and empowerment directly to the people we serve, and we look forward to working together to make it impactful,” the release stated.
The Stronger Together Health and Wellness Fair is free and open to the public, offering residents an accessible way to connect with healthcare services and community support systems in one place.
