Health Update: Health Update: Canyon Ranch is where the rich and famous get their elite-level wellness treatment – What Experts Say– What Experts Say.

Site of elite-level relaxing

Canyon Ranch — where New York meets Massachusetts — is in a Lenox, Mass., mansion. Its architects designed NYC’s public library, a vision born in the Waldorf, and today, it’s a top health and wellness spa for the rich and famous.

CEO Mark Rivers: “It’s how you reset. Wellness comes from resolutions to rituals. Not willpower. A multibillion-dollar market, it’s preventive care, mental health, personalized tuition. North America’s the largest market. We want your body healthy, mind clear, spirit lifted. Frequent early guest Oprah. Wellness is an overused word but we’ve been around five decades.

“It’s 100 treatment rooms, 1,500 employees. And an alphabet of names. Alanis Morissette doesn’t just come as a guest. Sutton Foster’s into movement, mobility. Deepak Chopra learns from longevity experts. You can improve your tennis, better your sleep, lose weight. It’s body and mind. Neil Patrick Harris comes. Diana Ross’ home was on our property.”

Forget snoozing. It’s archery, moon walks, barre workout, hammock yoga, Hungarian mud ritual, Coconut Melt whatever that is — and another hundred things like udvartana massage.

I would tell you more — but I’m going to take a nap.

General info

Raids in Venezuela brought to mind, the USA taking over Panama and its Gen. Manuel Antonio Noriega years ago. I’ve told this before. We’d met often. Phoning impossible. Then a prisoner, so all had to go through lawyers. Word came he wanted to speak with me. Negotiations took months. At the appointed time he was forbidden to call. This went on three weeks.

Finally, phone rang. I’m in my kitchen, tiny Yorkie on my lap. He says: “Cindy, I must speak with you.” I said, “Go ahead, General.” At that instant my 5-pound Yorkshire terrier bit into the wire and cut him off. I never heard from Noriega again — neither did anyone else.

Venezuela gets clean

President Trump understood drug merchants were a corrupt situation. Cartels bribe leaders. Their frightened leader won’t confront the gangsters. Everyone this side of Tierra del Fuego knew the US was poised to sanction Maduro, who tried to leave but wanted to take $200 million with him. Cocaine passes through Venezuela en route to the USA. Bill O’Reilly’s book “Confronting Evil” documents that. A few days before the US Special Forces were physically removing Maduro and his awful wife from their supposedly secure compound, the 34-year-old daughter of actor Tommy Lee Jones collapsed in San Francisco’s Fairmont Hotel. Dead. Suspected cause: fentanyl-laced narcotics. Most Americans understand that narcotics trafficking has become a national security problem.

President Trump is doing the right thing by waging furtive war on the vicious purveyors of narcotics. China, Russia and Iran all disagree. Those countries are certainly not looking out for us.

News you can lose

ANOTHER thing. Who’s getting the news? Young people don’t watch it. They just watch their palms. Television newscasts are not even considered a “thing” anymore. As old hat as covered up dresses. Young Americans don’t even turn the stuff on anymore. Young women who are reading word for word on teleprompters with their long, colored hair, who’s listening to them?

Where are we today. Who’s listening to us? Who are we talking to? The anchors are age 11.

Only thing that has any seniority on the TV news are the prostate medications.

OK, but to get to the nicer parts of life, NYC is opening new eateries. On the Upper East Side will soon be Citronella. A new Greek restaurant. Save me a table. Meanwhile, Maduro? Have fun in the federal prison. You earned it.

Only in New York, kids, only in New York.
