In a landmark initiative to bolster preventive healthcare and overall well-being among security personnel, the Ministry of Ayush has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF). This vital agreement, signed under the Ministry of Home Affairs, aims to enhance health practices and wellness initiatives for CISF members and their families.
The MoU was formalized by Dr. A. Raghu, Adviser (Ayu.) from the Ministry of Ayush, and Smt. Pratibha Agarwal, Inspector General (Administration) of CISF Headquarters in New Delhi. The signing ceremony witnessed the presence of notable officials, including Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha, Secretary of the Ministry of Ayush, and Shri Praveer Ranjan, IPS, Director General of CISF.
Strengthening Health and Wellness
This collaboration seeks to build a robust framework for implementing Ayush-based preventive healthcare strategies, encompassing wellness, yoga, stress management, and comprehensive health solutions for CISF personnel. The focus will be on creating awareness, conducting sensitization programs, and providing wellness interventions. Additionally, yoga practices and lifestyle management based on Ayush systems will also be integral to this initiative.
Implementation Details
One of the key elements of the MoU is the exploration of Ayush outpatient department (OPD) services at CISF locations, where feasible. The Ministry of Ayush will provide technical support by developing wellness modules and offering expert guidance via its institutions and research councils. In turn, the CISF will facilitate the rollout of these health initiatives across its various units.
This collaborative effort signifies a crucial step towards incorporating traditional medicinal practices into the daily routines of security personnel, thereby fostering better health, resilience, and an enhanced quality of life.
A Five-Year Commitment
The partnership established by this MoU is set to remain effective for five years from the date of signing, laying a strong foundation for future endeavors in promoting health and wellness within the CISF community.
