The world was privy to actress Ali Larter’s red carpet appearance Sunday night at the 32nd annual Actor Awards. Larter currently stars alongside Billy Bob Thornton, Demi Moore, and Jon Hamm in the original Paramount+ series Landman—a gritty drama that explores the quest for oil in the wide open spaces of West Texas. According to an article in Slate, some of the filming takes place at director Taylor Sheridan’s 6666 Ranch, where parts of the hit show Yellowstone were filmed.
She and fellow castmates received a nomination for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series. While the cast lost out to The Pitt, they received lots of attention for other reasons, like how exceptionally good they looked—and Larter was a clear favorite. Donning a stunning burgundy gown, she turned heads—leaving many of us thinking (myself included): She looks so freaking good. How do I look like THAT?!
Larter, now 50, reached this milestone birthday a few days ago on February 28. She showed off her defined abs in a two-piece swimsuit and workout clothes while celebrating, reportedly make-up free, with family and friends in the Bahamas.
If Larter’s red carpet appearance has you re-thinking your New Year’s fitness goals, you’re in luck. Larter recently shared her workout routine and top wellness habits that keep her looking and feeling great at 50, while visiting Texas in honor of the fall 2026 opening of the newest location of renowned fitness and wellness resort Canyon Ranch.
Larter Keeps Consistency at the Forefront
How do you get ripped abs and keep them? By sticking to your fitness plan—even when you feel kind of meh. Larter gets to bed by 11 and wakes up at 5:30 in the morning, to stay ready for her intense five-day-a-week gym plan: 30 to 45 minutes of strength training three times a week and runs whenever she can squeeze it in on the other days. Her runs might be as short as 20 minutes, but she keeps showing up anyway. “When motivation fails, discipline kicks in,” she told Canyon Ranch.
In a January episode of the Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast, Larter revealed to host Amanda Hirsch that she uses the gym to deal with all the emotions and angst that come with living life. “I’m getting through my terror of life. I’m working my anxiety out, and then I can start the day,” she said.
Surprisingly, she told Hirsch that she skips enlisting the help of personal trainer and just works out whenever she wants, following along with Peloton trainers. This nixes the stress of having to meet someone during the day. And the best way to get it all done? Vibing out to what she calls “dirty rap music” and house beats.
Chugging This Drink Gets Her Ready for the Day
But those reps at the gym come only after two things: celery juice that she buys or makes, and coffee. Celery is loaded with nutrients such as vitamin K, which is excellent for bone health, potassium (an electrolyte), and folate to keep cell function running smoothly. Nitrate in celery might also stabilize blood pressure, and the vegetable’s antioxidant properties can help reduce inflammation. Considering celery is 95 percent water, it can boost your hydration.
After working out, she opts for a glass of lemon juice, a second cup of coffee, and packs her meals with tasty protein options like turkey bacon (a favorite of mine!) and eggs, she said in an Instagram post.
Embracing Aging Drowns Out Self-Criticism—Especially Before Bikini Scenes
In response to being asked about the hardest scenes to shoot, Larter told Hirsch, without hesitation, “The bikini scenes kill me. It’s just the worst. Who wants to do that?” She has to hype herself to quell the nagging, cruel, inner voice that loves to tell all of us we’re not good enough.
But she also puts in a lot of work to keep her skin looking glowy. She told Canyon Ranch that her beauty routine includes moisturizer (lots of it), body scrubs, coconut oil, and lots of sweating and steaming. Post-workout? “Shower, dunk my face in ice water, and slather with oil cause of my spray tan,” she said on Instagram.
Despite the harsh critiques aimed at women as they age, the mom of two is taking getting older in stride by a) not trying to look younger than she is and b) being the best version of herself. “The most beautiful you’re ever going to be is today…embrace it. Be kind to yourself.”
