Taylor Lautner and Taylor Lautner are kicking off the next generation of Taylor Lautners.

The Twilight star and his wife, who goes by “Tay,” announced that they’re expecting their first child together in an Instagram post on Thursday.

The Taylor Lautners — Taylors Lautner? — certainly seem to be in on the joke about their shared name, because they captioned the announcement post, “What’s better than two Taylor Lautners?”

Maybe they’re joking about naming their kid after themselves, maybe they’re not. But the opportunity to bring a third Taylor Lautner into the world might be too funny a bit to pass up. Bring on Taylor Lautner Jr.! Come to think of it, the Abduction actor and his wife should both start going by Taylor Lautner Sr. if they go through with this. How many juniors can say they’re equally named after both of their parents?

Tay and Taylor announced their relationship with an Instagram post showing off their matching Space Jam Halloween costumes in 2018. (Yes, really.) They got engaged after Taylor proposed to Tay in 2021.

The couple recently reflected on sharing a first and last name in an interview with Cosmopolitan.

“It’s hilarious in a lot of ways, but sharing a name just adds to my feeling like she’s literally my other half, and we are one and the same,” the Ridiculous 6 star said. “Of course, we have different lives and independence. But it’s a really special thing.”

His wife, née Taylor Dome, added, “We giggle about it all the time.” (Same.)

She continued, “We were just like, ‘This is going to be a little confusing.’ But it was something that I wanted. Being Taylor’s wife, I wanted his last name.”

In the same interview, the couple discussed the possibility of having children.

“We haven’t tried having children,” the actor’s wife said. “We don’t know if it’s going to be a struggle, so there’s no negative connotation around it.”

“I’m ready when she is,” the Eclipse star said. “I think we’re getting closer.”

Dad-to-be Taylor Lautner is set to play Taylor Lautner in Taylor Lautner: Werewolf Hunter, an Amazon MGM series that will hopefully live up to its title.

“I said, ‘Okay, this will either be absolutely terrible or completely genius,'” Taylor recalled of being pitched the series a second time in his Cosmo interview. “The moment I gave him permission to pitch the idea to writers, he had a list of them who wanted to hop on Zoom. My mind was blown. I haven’t done anything for years, and we’re pitching a show about me being a werewolf hunter.”
