Pop superstar Rihanna has shared the details of the terrifying shooting incident, which took place at her Beverly Hills home on March 8.
The details of this incident were revealed in court documents obtained by the “Daily Mail”.
A 35-year-old woman allegedly fired multiple shots from an AR-15-style rifle at Rihanna’s home, with one round reportedly striking a wall inside the mansion.
The “Umbrella” singer told the police that the shooting incident happened while she was at home with her family, with her rapper husband A$AP Rocky asleep at the time.
According to the document, the Barbadian singer was inside the Airstream “Silver Bullet” trailer on her property when she suddenly heard what she described as “10 loud bangs on metal.”
Rihanna peeked out of her trailer and realised the sounds she had heard were gunshots.
According to the police report, the singer pulled back the curtains and discovered bullet holes in the trailer’s windshield, directly in front of where she had been standing seconds earlier.
She told authorities that she immediately woke A$AP Rocky and told him they were being shot at.
The couple ducked to the floor before hurrying inside to their house to check that their three children and household staff were unharmed.
No one was injured during the incident.
The document states that Rihanna told police officers she had received death threats on social media in the past but could not recall any recent incidents linked to the current attack. The rapper also revealed that he previously dealt with a female stalker.
The woman accused of firing shots at Rihanna’s mansion, Ivanna Ortiz, has pleaded not guilty to charges of attempted murder.
She recently appeared in the Los Angeles Superior Court on Wednesday, March 25 2026. During the court appearance, she reportedly claimed that she was not attempting to murder anyone.
“Can I say one sentence?” she asked, according to the report. “I would like to say that I wasn’t attempting murder. But that’s all I wanted to say.”
The police revealed that Ortiz drove to the singer’s Beverly Hills property and fired 20 rounds. The bullet holes were also found at a neighbouring property.
She is facing 14 charges, including ten counts of assault with a semiautomatic firearm and three counts of shooting at an inhabited dwelling.
At this stage, there is no established connection between Rihanna and the suspect.
However, a video previously circulated on social media showed Ortiz calling the singer a “witch” while speaking into the camera.
The accused has also tagged the singer in several posts, claiming that Rihanna is jealous and has consistently tried to steal from her.
“Rihanna, when you die, God is taking me to my future,” she said in the clip before continuing with a rambling statement.
As per reports, Ortiz is originally from Orlando, Florida. She previously worked as a speech language pathologist and has also shared religious content online through a YouTube series titled “Praying Woman’s Journal”, where she documented a personal prayer challenge.
She is currently held in pre-trial detention and will return to court on April 8.
Ortiz failed to pay the $1.875 million (roughly R32 million) bail, and she could face life imprisonment without parole if convicted.
