Michael B. Jordan may be racking up critical acclaim, but he hasn’t forgotten his biggest supporter.
The actor has been on a winning streak lately, earning widespread praise for his dual performance as brothers Smoke and Stack in the hit film Sinners. So, when he attended the 2026 Actor Awards (formerly known as the SAG Awards) on March 1, it was only fitting that he brought his mom, Donna, as his plus one—especially with a nomination for Male Actor in a Leading Role on the line.
While seeing Michael and Donna at the star-studded ceremony was heartwarming, the night became even more memorable when he won the award. As he gave his acceptance speech, the Black Panther alum acknowledged everything his mom did to help him get to this moment in his career.
“Mom, thank you for driving me back and forth to New York when we didn’t have enough money to go through the Holland Tunnel,” Michael said in a clip posted on Instagram. “When we were looking for gas money, parking spaces, you know what I’m saying? When I went up there for auditions—thank you.”
Naturally, seeing the sweet way Michael paid tribute to his mom had fans emotional.
“I love how he brings his mom to every award show ,” one person wrote in the comments. “I watched this live and couldn’t contain my joy. You deserve all of it Michael, and God bless your mom,” another penned. “Class act congratulations ,” a different follower added.
Michael loves to bring Donna with him to all sorts of award shows. In fact, he brought her to the 2026 NAACP Image Awards just a day earlier, on February 28, when Sinners picked up a whopping 13 trophies, too.
We love this for Michael!
