The 32-year-old won the BBC show earlier this year alongside fellow Traitor, Rachel Duffy

Scots Traitors winner Stephen Libby has swapped his vintage wardrobe for a trip across the Atlantic to the Academy Awards, following the launch of his ITV career. The 32-year-old from the Isle of Lewis has been sharing fashion insights on This Morning in recent months, after winning the BBC game show alongside fellow Traitor Rachel Duffy.

Adored for his charming personality, good nature and of course his fabulous jumpsuit collection, Stephen and Rachel’s joint victory saw the pair both walk away with £47,875 each when the programme aired earlier this year.

Working alongside presenters Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley, the former cybersecurity specialist will now be collaborating with ITV’s daytime programme to report live from the Oscars red carpet. He will also be attending the red carpet at Elton John’s AIDS Foundation Academy Award Party, one of several exclusive entertainment industry events celebrating the biggest night in cinema.

Stephen told The Sun: “I’ve just been having the best time working with the team at This Morning lately, from hosting fashion that I adore to now covering the buzz of the Oscars is just mind-blowing! I can’t wait to show viewers what I’ve been getting up to here in LA.”

ITV executives have reportedly flown the BBC star out to Los Angeles, where he will be showcasing a selection of costumes nominated for awards on the big night, as part of a segment on the programme. Stephen began presenting fashion segments on the show in February, having spoken openly about his choice to step away from his previous career following his successful appearance in the castle.

He told the BBC: “This is an opportunity to take a wee break and that really is all it is.

“I want to relax for a bit and give myself a bit of time.

“I would love to just make sure that in the future I’m doing something that genuinely makes me happy.

“I’ve never hated my job in cyber security, but it’s not something that I feel passionate about.”

He added: “I’ve lots of things I feel passionate about, and I would be a very lucky boy if I could work in one of those areas, because it’s not something everyone gets to do.”

Stephen previously revealed to the Metro that he hadn’t yet received the prize money in his bank account, but he had some ideas on how he wanted to use it.

He said: “My partner and my parents have just been such a rock because our lives have been so strange for the last 12 months, almost, going through all emotions.

“I would love to give them a little holiday, a wee break and relax, because I’ve put them through the wringer.”

Stephen’s fellow winner, Rachel Duffy, had plans to spend her share of the cash on a dream holiday with her mother, Anne, who suffered with Alzheimer’s.

Sadly, her mum passed just days after the BBC finale aired in January with Rachel taking to social media to break the heartbreaking news.
