Household entertainment names Siyabonga “Scoop” Ngwekazi and Nomuzi “Moozlie” Mabena are joining radio station Metro FM.
The commercial radio station has announced changes to its 2026 line-up, which sees pop culture figures well known for their TV presenting join Metro FM.
Ngwekwazi last year hosted the Metro FM Music Awards alongside afternoon drive co-host Luthando “LootLove” Shosha. He has been on YFM and on the former internet radio station Touch Central.
Rapper Moozlie is a Mabena significant television and youth culture figure, and will co-host the new lifestyle-led show with a strong digital focus.
The dynamic duo will host their innovative show, Lift Off. The weekend lifestyle urban format show will air Fridays between 7.00-10.00pm and Saturdays from 6.00-9.00pm.
Legendary Ismail Abrahams is leaving the station to pursue other media interests, and Ricardo Genesis, a young broadcaster from VOW FM, takes over, as part of the next generation of radio talent.
Mvangeli Nzuza takes over from Paulette Neo Kayise, who joined the station a year ago as the station’s weekday traffic reporter. Kayise transitions to weekend news.
“As METRO FM approaches 40 years, our intention is not to change what already works, but to celebrate the journey of the brand with the talent that has helped shape it over the years, while making strategic additions that strengthen our offering,” says METRO FM Business Manager, Kina Nhlengethwa.
“These new voices complement an already strong lineup and support the station’s continued connection with its audience,” concludes Nhlengethwa.
Metro FM’s breakfast and afternoon shows, Best Mornings Sabelo “Sabby” Mtshali and Candice Coulsen, and The Touchdown with Thabo “Tbo Touch” Molefe and Luthando “Loot Love” Shosha, remain unchanged.
