Award-winning rapper Rouge is stepping into a new space.

She’s no stranger to a stage or a camera, but this time she is swapping bars for scripts.

The multi-talented artist has joined one of South Africa’s longest-running and most-watched soapies, “Scandal!”.

She took to social media to share the exciting news.

“Cats out of the bag. Officially joined a new family. See you on @etvScandal.”

This is the beginning of a new chapter in the singer’s career that has largely been defined by music, live performances and her presence in the local hip hop scene.

While she has always shown versatility as an entertainer, this role places her in the middle of one of Mzansi’s biggest drama productions.

According to the channel, Rouge takes on the role of Darlene Myrie, a woman driven by loss and searching for answers.

Her character arrives in Johannesburg following the mysterious death of her brother, Samka Myrie, and quickly finds herself pulled into the dangerous world surrounding the Level Up Apartments.

As she begins to investigate, her path crosses with key figures linked to his death, setting the stage for tension, confrontation and possible revenge.

The character is described as bold, calculated and adaptable, someone who can move between different spaces with ease while staying focused on uncovering the truth.

Her addition comes at a time when “Scandal!” continues to build toward its final chapter, with new characters being introduced to intensify storylines and keep viewers locked in.

e.tv previously confirmed that the South African Film and Television Awards–winning soapie will be leaving screens after more than 20 years.

The channel explained that they believe “Scandal!” has reached the end of its life cycle and will be on air until the end of June 2026.

From its very first episode, “Scandal!” exploded into a South African household name. It hooked millions of viewers with powerful storylines, unforgettable characters, and brilliant performances that constantly raised the bar for local television.
