Reality TV star and businesswoman Kim Kardashian and her mother Kris Jenner have denied accusations from Ray J that they planned the release of the infamous sex tape that surfaced nearly two decades ago.

The dispute is part of an ongoing legal battle between the former couple, who dated in the early 2000s. In recent court filings, Kardashian and Jenner rejected claims that they planned the release of the 2007 tape or worked with others to profit from it.

In a sworn declaration submitted to the court, Kardashian dismissed the allegations as completely untrue.

“His claim that I had a plan with my mother and others to release a sex tape, defraud the public and file a ‘fake’ lawsuit against the porn company that released it to create buzz is a lie,” she reportedly stated.

Kardashian also rejected accusations that she and her family were involved in any kind of criminal activity related to the tape’s release.

“My family and I are not part of a criminal enterprise. We have not conducted racketeering activity, nor have we profited from racketeering activities as the defendant claims,” she added in the filing.

Jenner also filed her own declaration, firmly denying claims that she played any role in the tape’s distribution or commercial success.

“Ray J’s insinuations that I masterminded the sex tape and its release are absolutely false. “In no world would I ever be involved in any way, shape or form of peddling tapes of my daughter like this,” she said.

The legal dispute centres around the tape titled Kim Kardashian, Superstar, which was recorded in 2003 when Kardashian and Ray J were in a relationship. The video was later released in 2007 by Vivid Entertainment.

At the time, Kardashian filed a lawsuit against the company over the release, claiming invasion of privacy. The case was eventually settled, and she reportedly received a payout of around $5 million.

However, Ray J has continued to dispute the narrative surrounding the tape. He has repeatedly claimed that Kardashian and Jenner were involved in planning its release and used it to generate publicity.

Those allegations led Kardashian and Jenner to file a defamation lawsuit against him, accusing him of spreading false claims about them in public statements and online discussions.

Speaking to “TMZ”, Ray J accused the pair of lying in their sworn declarations and suggested their statements could amount to perjury.

The dispute has been further fuelled by comments from Ray J’s mother, entertainment manager Sonja Norwood, who took to Instagram in defence of her son and questioned the Kardashian family’s version of events.

“After reading the declarations from Kris Jenner and Kim Kardashian, and reading their recent statements circulating, including reports published across multiple media outlets regarding the tape, I am no longer going to sit back and watch my son be ‘dogged’ on social media over this matter when @rayj and I, Kris and Kim, and many others know the truth,” she wrote.

“And Kris, momager, you say you did not orchestrate the commercial release of the tape. Then who did?

“I support @rayj and his journey to bring the truth forward. I have witnessed this journey for many years, and however long it takes, whether it becomes a long journey or a difficult battle, we will stay on that path until the voices that have distorted the truth are publicly revealed.

“And if that truth journey must continue all the way to the doorstep of God’s judgment, then so be it,” she concluded.
