Nicki Minaj said she’s on her way to becoming a US citizen and claimed she was given a Trump Gold card, something the president created offering fast-tracked US visas to the wealthy

Nicki Minaj revealed that she is finalizing her United States citizenship and also allegedly received a “Gold Trump card free of charge.”

The 43-year-old has recently been praising the current president, Donald Trump, and introduced him at the Trump Accounts summit in Washington, D.C., on January 28. After Nicki’s vocal support of MAGA, many people called for her deportation as she is not a United States citizen.

Nicki was born in Trinidad and Tobago and lived there until the age of five. The same day she appeared at the Trump Accounts event, Nicki took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to mock the petition and claim she was on her way to becoming a citizen.

She shared a picture of the horror film Chucky doll giving the middle finger. “Residency? Residency? The cope is coping,” she captioned the post.

“Finalizing that citizenship paperwork as we speak as per MY wonderful, gracious, charming President,” it continued. “Thanks to the petition. I wouldn’t have done it without you. Oh CitizenNIKA you are thee moment Gold Trump card free of charge.”

The star has previously talked about her citizenship and said she wasn’t officially a U.S. citizen during a TikTok Live in September 2024. “I’m not a citizen of America. Isn’t that crazy?” she said.

“You would think that with the millions of dollars that I’ve paid in taxes to this country that I would have been given an honorary citizenship many, many, many thousands of years ago,” she added.

Years prior, in 2018, Nicki took to Instagram to slam Trump’s administration during his first term, noting she came to this country illegally and found it heartbreaking how illegal immigrants were being treated. “I came to this country as an illegal immigrant,” Nicki wrote.

“I can’t imagine the horror of being in a strange place & having my parents stripped away from me at the age of 5,” she continued, referencing families being separated at the United States border with Mexico. “This is so scary to me. Please stop this.”

She concluded, “Can you try to imagine the terror & panic these kids feel right now? Not knowing if their parents are dead or alive, if they’ll ever see them again.”

Nicki took a huge U-turn regarding her thoughts on Trump, as while at the Trump Accounts summit, she took the podium and said, “I don’t know what to say, but what I will say is I’m probably the president’s number one fan, and that’s not going to change.”
