Nicki Minaj has turned her fans into MAGA supporters.

The rapper has embraced her support for President Donald Trump, with rants on social media and also being photographed with him at events. Nicki has even described herself as “probably the president’s number one fan.” Her support for the president has now hit her fans, with many following the artists foot steps, and others deleting her music and removing Nicki as a whole.

Barbz, the name of her fanbase, has now opened up about how they have changed their political party, from democrat to republican, which Nicki has publicly expressed she’s been wanting her fans to do. However, others are challenging that notion.

Many questioned whether fans are really changing their political views over an artist.

One person wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter, “Fans don’t actually switch parties because of a celebrity. They just post louder.” Another person wrote, “Right, love, if your loyalty to a rapper leads you to pick a political party, you might want to check your priorities. Music’s for enjoying, not for swapping your common sense.”

A third user posted, “Yeah, ok.. D—.. What will the Democrats do about the 3 Nicki Menaj fans who don’t vote, but are switching to Republicans. How will they survive..”

The claims come from a Fox News article about a post someone made on X that they made the “switch to republican” get 300,000 views.

One person, who even seemed to be on Nicki’s side, iterated that the number of views a post gets isn’t necessarily a reliable metric. They wrote, “Big online moment, but the measurable part is registrations: the ‘switching Republican’ Barbz post topped 300,000 views, and Scott Presler’s offer to help change party status hit ~230,000 views—still no public data yet showing real voter-roll shifts.”

One fan wrote on the social media platform, “today is the day i switch to republican. seeing how the democrats treated nicki minaj on social media, the press, and in public. they were mocking a black woman trauma is just insane to witness. i may get hate for this but I believe it’s the right thing to do.”

Another wrote, “Just OFFICIALLY left the Democratic party. I’m disgusted with the way they’ve been handling things. Maybe I was blinded? Maybe I didn’t know any better, but growth is always the next goal. Nicki Minaj x MAGA for the win.”

Since Nicki became vocal about her support for Trump, there have been videos online of people “boo’ing” her music, fans deleting songs from their playlist, and others arguing why she made this change.
