With rumors swirling that Netflix has had it with Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, a new report claimed that the streamer has been eyeing Prince William and Princess Kate for a potential collaboration.
“Backchannel conversations are already happening — this is a live play, not a fantasy,” a source told Rob Shuter’s Naughty But Nice Substack on Saturday, March 21. “They want to erase the chaos and replace it with credibility — and William and Kate are the crown jewels.”
While nothing has been officially put into place, the insider said that Netflix is seriously considering them for future projects possibly centered around William’s work with the Earthshot Prize and Kate’s work with The Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood.
“This isn’t about building something new — it’s about plugging into a royal brand that already works and is beloved,” the source explained.
However, the insider clarified that after what allegedly happened between the Sussexes and Netflix, the platform is being extremely cautious.
“They got burned once — they will not get burned again,” the source said. “It’s early, it’s delicate, but it’s real — and if it lands, it resets everything.”

As Star previously reported, Netflix recently ended its partnership with Meghan’s lifestyle brand, As Ever, after her show, With Love, Meghan, was canceled.
While Variety later reported that Netflix CEO Ted Sarandos was “fed up” with Meghan and Harry, both camps denied that there were any issues between them.
“Archewell has been a thoughtful and collaborative partner,” Netflix’s chief content officer Bela Bajaria told Variety on March 17. “We’ve really enjoyed working with Harry and Meghan. They’re deeply engaged in the storytelling process and bring a unique, global perspective that aligns with the kinds of impactful projects our members respond to.”
