Houston’s biggest pop culture convention just added another major name to its 2026 guest lineup.
Organizers for Comicpalooza announced that actor Laurence Fishburne will appear at the event this year. Fishburne is scheduled to attend on both Saturday and Sunday during the three-day convention.
Fishburne is known for a long list of film, television and stage performances spanning decades. His early career included roles in “Apocalypse Now,” “Boyz n the Hood,” “The Color Purple” and “What’s Love Got to Do with It,” which earned him an Oscar nomination.
He later became a cultural icon for playing Morpheus in The Matrix and its sequels.
According to Comicpalooza, Fishburne has continued to deliver high-profile performances in projects including the John Wick franchise, “Mystic River,” “Ant-Man and the Wasp,” “The Witcher,” “Predators,” “Contagion” and “Man of Steel.” His television credits include CSI: Crime Scene Investigation and Black-ish, along with acclaimed stage work in productions such as Thurgood.

Comicpalooza returns to Houston in May
Comicpalooza 2026 is scheduled for May 22–24 at the George R. Brown Convention Center in downtown Houston.
The event is billed as a three-day celebration of pop culture and fandom featuring celebrity guests, panels and fan experiences.
In addition to celebrity appearances, the convention will feature:

Organizers also say fans can expect live entertainment such as dance performances, karaoke, wrestling matches and Full Steel Combat events, along with late-night parties throughout the weekend.
More guests announced
Comicpalooza organizers recently announced another wave of guests tied to the video game franchise Halo as the series celebrates its 25th anniversary.
Voice actors Steve Downes, Tim Dadabo, Jeff Steitzer and Jen Taylor will attend, along with composer Marty O’Donnell, whose work on the Halo soundtrack has earned multiple awards.
The Halo cast joins an expanding list of guests for the event, including:
