As Martin Scorsese, Brian Koppelman and David Levien get to work on their Vegas casino drama for Netflix, big names are being tossed around as buzz for the series grows.
The series “is set in the high-stakes, sharp-elbowed present-day Las Vegas casino business, which is a modernized but still dangerous version of the legendary city,” the streamer explained in December. “At the center of which stands Robert ‘Bobby Red’ Redman, president of the hottest hotel casino in town, who has to make some long odds moves to try and secure his position and take more ground.”
While the eight-part series is unrelated to Scorsese’s 1995 film, Casino, fans of the award-winning drama are throwing out casting suggestions, including actor PJ Schulte.
“Got to get PJ starring in this!!” boxer Ryan Garcia commented on Deadline’s social media announcement.
“Need to cast my guy PJ [Schulte] for this!!” comedian Adam Waheed agreed.
Social media star Jayline Ojeda added, “They need [PJ Schulte] in this show!”
When asked about the possibility, Schulte gushed, “That would be a dream come true.”
“I’m doing a lot of projects on the producing side and management, but this is like a secret passion of mine and I’m really hitting those late-night classes, staying sharp,” he told The Hollywood Fix. “I’m just staying ready for whatever.”
Fans have also pushed for stars like Josh Duhamel and Sharon Stone to land starring roles.
“Put [James Lesure] and [Josh Duhamel] in the show or we riot,” one fan wrote via Instagram.
“[Sharon Stone] better be starring in this in some way. Best role of her career!” another added.
“If [Sharon Stone] isn’t in it I will not be watching,” a third fan commented. “Write her a FAT cheque thank you [Netflix] HONOUR THIS ICONIC ACTRESS.”
Actor Evan Camacho also tossed his hat in the ring, simply writing, “Cast me.”
As of publication, there is no word on casting for the untitled Sin City drama series.
