The Wolf of Wall Street may have come out 13 years ago but the Martin Scorsese film continues to find new fans engrossed with the real-life story of Jordan Belfort.
The movie has a star-studded cast with Leonardo DiCaprio joined by Jonah Hill, Matthew McConaughey, Margot Robbie, the late Rob Reiner, Joanna Lumley, and Jon Bernthal.
Where the majority of the cast were already household names at the time the film came out as bizarre as it seems, no one outside of fans of Neighbours and About Time would have heard of Robbie before the Scorsese movie.
Robbie’s role as The Duchess Naomi, Jordan’s second wife, is the first experience that many had of the now world-famous Australian actor.
Despite her previous biggest role at the time having been a supporting role in About Time however Robbie was unafraid of challenging decisions on the film, shown by the fact that she insisted that one of her scenes was filmed nude.

Robbie’s Naomi seduces Jordan, played by DiCaprio, whilst he is still married to his first wife after meeting him at a party.
In one scene in which they finally end up sleeping together Robbie is seen entirely nude as she leads him to bed, something that Scorsese had suggested wasn’t necessary.
Speaking on the Talking Pictures podcast she said that the iconic director had suggested she could have a robe if she was uncomfortable with filming nude, something that the Australian actor turned down.
She said: “That’s not what she would do in that scene.
“The whole point is that she’s going to come out completely naked—that’s the card she’s playing.”

This wasn’t the only aspect of Jordan and Naomi’s relationship that the at-the-time fresh faced actress influenced, telling BAFTAs A Life In Pictures series that it had been her idea to have the pair have sex one last time when she decides to divorce him.
Robbie said: “What happened previously in the script was that I walked into his office and said I want a divorce. And that was it.”
The night before shooting she stated that her, Scorsese, and DiCaprio pored over the script and ended up taking influence from Belfort’s biography, saying: “We started riffing, and we locked ourselves in a room until like three in the morning and came up with all of that. And the sex scene that comes before that.
“We were a couple of months into the shoot at that point. The tone had been set that it was a bit of a free for all.

“It was like the crazier you are, the more Marty will like it. And the more screen time you’re going to get.”
Robbie was clearly unafraid of the famous faces she was working with in the film, something that was obvious even from her final audition before she even got the part.
The actor stated in her appearance on the Talking Pictures podcast she’d thought to herself: “I could kiss Leonardo DiCaprio right now, and that would be awesome.
“I can’t wait to tell all of my friends this. And then I thought… nah. And just walloped him in the face.”
Robbie added that there was ‘dead silence’ for three seconds, saying it ‘felt like an eternity’ before adding: “Then they just burst out laughing. Leo and Marty were laughing so hard, they said ‘that was great.’ I was thinking, I’m going to get arrested, I’m pretty sure that’s assault, battery.”
Wolf of Wall Street airs on BBC Two tonight, 3 April, at 10pm.
