As Brooklyn Beckham put his family on blast amidst their ongoing feud, Marc Anthony’s unexpected role in bringing tensions to a head at the model’s wedding has been revealed

Brooklyn Beckham has officially put his parents on blast and spilled all about what he alleges caused their major family feud, and the eight words uttered by Marc Anthony as he performed at the model and photographer’s 2022 wedding to Nicola Peltz appeared to play a major role in the drama.

Beckham, 26, officially addressed rumors of a feud with his parents, Sir David Beckham, 50, and Victoria Beckham, 51, in a lengthy series of Instagram stories, airing his grievances with his family.

Following his decision to break his silence on how his parents allegedly tried to “ruin” his marriage, more details have emerged about the incidents that led to tensions exploding amongst the famous family.

One of the biggest moments that led to discord occurred during Beckham and Peltz’s wedding, when Victoria was alleged to have “ruined” a special dance the bride and groom had been planning for their reception.

People Magazine reported on the moment in May 2025, sharing that Beckham used Anthony, 57, who was performing as a gift at the affair, to hijack the dance.

“Marc Anthony, who is a friend of the Beckhams, offered to perform as a gift at the wedding,” a source said at the time.

“Before the song began, Marc Anthony asked Brooklyn to come to the stage, and then announced, ‘The most beautiful woman in the room tonight, come on up…Victoria Beckham!’”

Another source at the time said it was “such a jaw-dropping moment that it left the whole room in absolute shock–you could hear a pin drop,” and that it “wasn’t appropriate” and the bride had “run from the room crying.”

“Nicole felt like Victoria did this on purpose, when she knew it was a pre-planned romantic dance meant for Brooklyn and Nicola. What she couldn’t understand was why,” the source shared.

Though other sources at the time indicated that hadn’t been the case, and the couple had already shared other dances, and the moment in question was meant to be a mother/son dance, Brooklyn now shared that it was not the case, accusing his mother of stealing the moment away from him and his wife.

Detailing other issues that came to a head during the planning process for the wedding, he also shared that “My mum hijacked my first dance with my wife, which had been planned weeks in advance to a romantic love song.”

“In front of our 500 wedding guests, Marc Anthony called me to the stage, where, according to the schedule, my romantic dance with my wife was planned, but instead, my mum was waiting to dance with me. She danced with me inappropriately on me in front of everyone. I’ve never felt more uncomfortable or humiliated in my entire life,” he continued.

Brooklyn also added that he and his wife had since hoped to renew their vows so they could “create new memories” that bring them “joy and happiness” and not “anxiety and embarrassment.”

David and Victoria Beckham have yet to publicly reply to their son’s claims.
