Major League DJz are asking for the “Fast & Furious” franchise to put South African motorsport culture on the global stage.
The twin duo recently called on the beloved franchise to add local spinning star Sam Sam, real name Samkeliso Thubane, to its cast when the series returns.
They quoted a post that was shared by actor Tyrese Gibson, asking him to consider getting Sam Sam in the movie.
“Super dope.. but please can you add SAM SAM to this franchise. Best spinner driver in the world. Proudly South African. You would never REGRET IT”
Those who agreed flooded the comment section in support of Major League DJz’s request, with many already imagining how Sam Sam’s skills could translate on screen.
“Imagine him opening the movie with them on a spinning fest, then it leads to a race before the intro lol,” wrote X user Sthedoingthings.
“He’s the best spinner after Katra,” added Ditebogo.
This comes after cast member Gibson posted a picture of his castmates alongside football icon Cristiano Ronaldo following the rumours that he would be joining the next Fast & Furious movie.
Vin Diesel recently took to his Instagram to confirm that another film is in the works and dropped a major bombshell by revealing that a role has been written specifically for the football star.
Diesel shared a picture of himself with Ronaldo on the post, teasing fans with a caption that suggested the global superstar could soon be part of the “Fast & Furious” family.
“Everyone asked, would he be in the Fast mythology… I gotta tell you, he is a real one. We wrote a role for him… @cristiano,” he wrote.
The “Fast & Furious” franchise has always been about more than just speed. Drifting, spinning, precision driving and pushing cars beyond their limits are central to the franchise’s DNA.
From “Tokyo Drift” to the increasingly wild street races of later films, car control has always been the real star. That is exactly where Sam Sam comes in.
Described by Red Bull as the “sultan of spin”, Sam Sam is widely regarded as one of the most skilled spinners in the world.
Born and raised in Mbombela in Mpumalanga, the 27-year-old athlete first found his love for motorsport on quad bikes before convincing his father to buy him his first BMW E30, the car that would launch his spinning journey.
His big breakthrough came in 2016 when he competed on the TV show “So You Think You Can Spin?”, beating hundreds of contestants and winning the public’s vote.
Since then, he has become the most celebrated spinning athlete sponsored by Red Bull.
Sam Sam is loved by spinning and drifting enthusiasts who gather to watch him perform spinning stunts and showcase his impressive car control in his famous Gusheshe.
Earlier this year, he also represented South Africa at the grand reopening of Hangar-7 in Salzburg, Austria, putting local spinning culture on an international platform.
