Savannah Chrisley’s guest co-host appearance on ABC’s The View” drew backlash from some viewers this week.
Following the announcement, some fans threatened to boycott the daytime talk show until her run concludes on February 20.
After Chrisley’s first appearance aired, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt publicly backed the guest host on Instagram.
Responding to a photo from the episode, which showed Chrisley wearing a brown pinstripe pantsuit and a yellow blouse, Leavitt wrote, “Love this look!”
Former White House press secretary Sean Spicer also reacted to a separate post featuring Chrisley on the show.
Chrisley’s political views and family history have fueled scrutiny around her appearance.
Her parents, Todd and Julie Chrisley, were pardoned by President Donald Trump last year after their convictions in 2022.
The couple had been found guilty of conspiring to defraud community banks out of more than $30 million in fraudulent loans.
They were also convicted of tax evasion for concealing income while maintaining a lavish public lifestyle.
At the time of the pardon, the co-hosts of The View criticized the decision on air, calling it dishonest and unethical.
Chrisley has spoken publicly in support of Trump and campaigned on his behalf during the 2024 presidential race.
During Monday’s episode, she addressed the Trump administration’s handling of Jeffrey Epstein documents.
Chrisley said the Department of Justice had been “transparent” in its release of related materials and argued that the Clintons should agree to a private deposition.
“The Clintons are, in fact, trying to twist things and get sound bites from a public hearing,” she said.
“So having a deposition allows each individual to have different members of their teams, and they’re asking the right questions, the hard questions to then gather it for.”
